Social Play

Saturday morning 10 am till 12 noon.

Monday evening 7-9  pm

You do not need a partner as there is a host.

Everyone welcome especially non members.

JUST TURN UP.

£5 a session

Novice Duplicate session Tuesday afternoons. £5 per session

1:30pm start to 3:30pm (with tea/coffee from1pm ). There will be a host so you don't need a partner, just turn up.

These sessions are aimed at all players who want to move into playing in regular club duplicate sessions. 

There will be experienced club players present to provide a little support if needed.

Sessions for Everyone

Whether you're a complete beginner, a social player, or a seasoned competitor, we offer sessions to suit you. Our in-club games run regularly, with a warm welcome guaranteed, and we also host two evening online sessions each week on BBO so you can join from the comfort of your own home.

Expert Tuition

We have three fully qualified teachers on hand, offering lessons for every level—from absolute beginners to advanced players looking to refine their strategies. Our classes are engaging, supportive, and designed to help you grow your skills while having fun.

Saturday Morning Social Play

We run a Saturday morning social play session. Everyone welcome especially non members.  Please just turn up no mater how experienced you are. We have a host available so you don’t need a partner. 

Novice Duplicate Session.

Our Novice duplicate session on Tuesdays at 1.30pm to 3.30pm are for players who want to experience club duplicate sessions but with a little help from more experienced players.

Our dedicated premises provide a comfortable, well-equipped setting with ample parking for members and visitors. Refreshments are served at most of our in-club sessions, making it the perfect place to relax, chat with friends, and enjoy the game.

  • Beginners bridge, Year 1 on Thursday evenings with Nicky Bainbridge from 7pm-9pm.  Complete beginners welcome, just turn up on first night or contact Val Ross-Gilbertson on 07902901985 for more information. First taster lesson free.  Starts January 15th 2026.   Novice social play open to all on December 19th and January 8th 6-8pm.  No partner needed.    

 

  • Beginners bridge, Year 2 on Thursday afternoon with Nicky Bainbridge from 4pm-6pm. For people with a little experience or have done year 1 of beginners course. Please sign on list on noticeboard or contact Val Ross-Gilbertson on 07902901985.  Novice social play open to all on December 19th and January 8th 6-8pm.  No partner needed.

 

  • New daytime beginners lessons starting on Monday afternoons 1:30-4pm from 19th January 2026.  Try first lesson FREE with no obligation 1:30-3:30pm.  Just turn up or contact Val Ross-Gilbertson 07902901985 for more information.

 

  • Improver lessons, Year 4 on Wednesday mornings with Brian Osmond, from 14th January 2026 9.45am-12 noon, 8 lessons. Please sign on list on noticeboard.

Please can all new members be aware that you need to "opt in" to receive your copy of the EBU diary in September and receive a hard copy of the EBU magazine. Members can do this by either logging in to My EBU or calling the EBU on 01296 317200.

Rosemary Randerson

We are sad to hear that Rosemary Randerson has passed away on 16th November at the age of 93. She did an enormous amount for the club, teaching the Beginners and running the Tuesday and Thursday morning sessions.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
