Charities Supported by Jefferson Bridge Association |
Since its founding in 2006, Jefferson Bridge Association and its members have raised funds and made material donations to many non-profit organizations. Game fees are often designated for either local or national charities. Deceased members are honored by special games to raise donations to a charity designated by the family.
Jefferson Bridge Association has raised and contributed funds to the following non-profit organizations:

- Charlottesville Albemarle Rescue Squad
- Staunton Rescue Squad
- Jefferson Area Food Bank
- Young Life of Louisa
- Jefferson Memorial Regional Library
- MAMTA School in India
- Schoolhouse Thrift Shop
- Hospice of the Piedmont
- American Cancer
- Family and Friends of Cancer Patients
- Jefferson Area Board for the Aging
- The Haven - (shelter/support center for homeless)
- Alzheimer's Association
- Blue Ridge Area Food Bank
- Meals on Wheels
We have also donated:
- 1500+ pounds of food for the Jefferson Area Food Bank
- 300+ pairs of shoes for the Salvation Army Shoe Drive
- Many pounds of towels, blankets and rugs for the SPCA
- Room and materials for the Oscher Life-Long Learning Institute -OLLI Program
- Teaching program for OLLI
- Household items for a yard sale to benefit a wounded police officer with breast cancer -
- Playing Cards to the Women's Correctional Institute (jail) in Fluvanna County
- Playing Cards to various nursing/retirement homes in Charlottesvillle
Our club saves Coca-Cola bottle caps to support various charities:
- St. Jude's Hospital
- Toys for Tots
- Boy's Home School
- Wounded Warriors
As a sanctioned club of the American Contract Bridge League, charity games support non-profits throughout the United States. Our club has sent hundreds of dollars each year to ACBL to support ACBL Charities.
