Welcome to Hutton Bridge Club
Club Introduction
Club Introduction

The club meets at 19:30 every Monday and Wednesday (public holidays excepted) in the reception area of:-

Becket Keys School (formerly Sawyer's Hall College)
Sawyer's Hall Lane
Brentwood
Essex CM15 9DA.

See the "Information" page for directions: please take care using the postcode on your SatNav as it may take you on a wild goose chase up the Ongar Road.

We are a friendly medium-sized club and are very welcoming of guests or visitors on all occasions. As well as the weekly club duplicate we host special events such as the Club Championship, Spring Individual, EBU and Charitable Simultaneous Pairs, and a Christmas party. The first Wednesday session of each month is known as 'Friendly First Wednesday' and is especially suited to newcomers.

The club fields teams in all the major Essex and some national competitions and has been known to do well, please follow the menu buttons on the left for more information.

Need a Partner?

If you wish to play but need a partner please contact John Rayment via email or 07454 745438 and we will do our very best to accommodate you.

Xmas Party!

The not to be missed event of the season is nearly upon us!

The club's XMAS PARTY will take place on Monday 18th December, we would like to see as many members (and friends) as posible attend so please contact us if you require a partner. Those pesky eleves may be back, a Greek in a flashing tie will lead the celebrations and the club's trophies will be presented. XMAS jumpers/attire is very much encouraged as we enjoy fun bridge, games and wine!

Would each pair please bring with them one savoury and one sweet plate plus a glass each for wine - members free with guests/visitors paying normal table money.

2017 AGM

This years AGM was well attended by 30 members and 2 guests and took place on Monday 30th October immediately prior to the normal bridge session. We enjoyed a very cordial and progressive meeting following a another successfull year for the club.

The minutes are available here.

Hugely successfull club Holiday!

The club's first ever holiday took place from the 20th - 23rd October 2017 in Worthing. The trip was a huge success and those of you expecting (fearing!) a mention should watch this space for a full report in due course, however all the bridge results are on our results calendar.

It seems likely we will run a trip to the same venue next year, despite the spectre of a long haired man running barefoot through the coridoors we already have a list of those interested!

Hutton get social again

Ten members and a couple of guests can be seen enjoying a splendid (if rather slow!) Indian meal together on 7th October in Brentwood during which a thoroughly good time was had by all!

But what did we learn?

Well, some of us drink a lot more when left without food for longer than is really reasonable and quorn is a real thing you can actually eat - who knew?!?

The editor notes that perhaps eating such oddities may make him a better bridge player..... or slimmer.....

Please be aware that if you belong to this bridge club then you, your partner or your friends are most welcome to join us during these pleasurable informal evenings.

Hutton retain Club Pairs!!!

On Sunday 4th June Coral Fallon and Jon Ward won the Club Pairs with the 3rd place slot going to Theo Todman and Colin Scott scoring 63.74% & 61.25% respectively.

This placed Hutton comfortably top of the clubs to become the winning club for the 2nd year running, we have also provided the winning individual pair for 4 of the last 5 years!

Well done to all our pairs taking part and especially those mentioned above, click here to see your club at the top.

Please let a member of the committee or support team know if you would be willing to represent the club in inter-club or county events, we enter teams and pairs at all levels.
