The Presidents’ Rose Bowl - 1964
Presented to the club by Mrs Lavender Hicks, a founder member of the club.
A list of qualifying evenings is displayed on the website. To qualify members must play in a minimum of 20 sessions. For members playing in more than 20 sessions only the best 20 scores will count. The highest average will win the trophy. Scores with visitors are not eligible. The year runs from 1st March to the end of February.
All club evenings shall count as qualifying sessions apart from (i) the evening of the AGM, (ii) the evening of the Christmas party, (iii) any evening where a teams’ event is played, (iv) any evening where Butler scoring is employed, (v) any evening where an individual event is played, (vi) any evening where the room is divided into two or more sections, (vii) any evening when the session has to be abandoned for any reason before the movement is 66% completed and (viii) any Bank Holiday evening.

The Joe Ward Salver - 1983
Presented to the club by Mrs J. Ward in memory of her husband who served as treasurer and scorer for many years
This is awarded annually to the runner-up for the Presidents’ Rose Bowl.
The Stuart Morton Trophy - 1976
Club members donated towards the purchase of this trophy in memory of Stuart who died suddenly whilst Captain of the Club.
This is awarded annually for a Teams event organised as follows. The Tournament Director divides the pairs into an upper and lower section, by handicap, and randomly draws one pair from each section to form a team.
The Club “Teams of Four” Championship Trophy -1977
Purchased by the Club to encourage team competitions.
This trophy is awarded annually to the winners of the multiple teams competition where the members form their own teams.
The Club Pairs Trophy - 1977
Purchased by the Club members.
This is awarded annually. Up to 2016-2017 this played on two consecutive Club evenings; the first evening normal match pointed pairs, from which the leading 10 pairs, who attend at the second evening, qualified for a 5 table 'all-play-all' Final. A Consolation Final was held on the second evening for all players not qualifying for the premier final, irrespective of whether they played on the first evening or not.
From 2017-2018 the second evening is also a normal match pointed pairs event. The results of the two evenings are combined to give overall winners and runners up from those pairs who have played both evenings.
The Gardiner Plate - 1987
Presented by Mrs Eileen Gardiner on her retirement as Captain of the Club.
This is awarded annually to the runners up for the Club Pairs Trophy.
The Porter Trophy - 1995
Presented by Ray Porter on his retirement after many years as Tournament Director.
Up to 2016-17 this was awarded annually to the winners of the Club Pairs Consolation Final. From 2017-2018 this is awarded to the pair finishing highest in the combined results from those with a combined NGS grade below 50% at the start of the first week who have played both evenings.
The Alan Nott Trophy - 1987
Presented by Len Scofield in memory of his bridge partner, Alan, who enjoyed Individual competitions.
This is awarded annually to the winner of the individual competition.
The McCann Plate - 2003
Presented by David and Penny McCann when they left the club on their retirement to Devon.
Both had been active members on the committee; Penny also served as club captain.
This is awarded annually to the runner-up of the individual competition.
The Slam Trophy - 2008
Presented by Carol Ombler, former captain of the club.
This is awarded annually to the member who has the most points on the slam ladder where 3 points are awarded for a grand slam and 1 point for a small slam
The Derek Oxbrow 3NT Trophy
This trophy, presented by Derek's family in 2017, is in memory of Derek Oxbrow who was a stalwart of the club for many years. It will be presented to the player who, over the course of the year, bids and makes the most 3NT contracts.
Random Teams (No trophy)
Teams are formed by 2 pairs who have sat randomly before being informed that this is a teams event. It is held annually on the first Monday in March where there are an even numbrer of pairs.
