- Players and their partners must be below the "Rank Limit" or have earned less than the equivalent number of master points at the start of the year, to be eligible for a trophy. The Competition Sub-committee will be the arbiter of an "equivalent rank" for those members who's actual rank does not reflect their playing experience.
- The "Cumulative Pairs" trophies will only include scores achieved in regular club pairs sessions. This excludes all teams, the club single session trophies, Swiss pairs, simultaneous pairs and county heats.
End of year exclusion rules: winners of the Sargeant Cup and Gould Plate are not eligible for the Norman Cup, winners of the Glanville Trophy are not eligible for the Horsham 1000 Cup, the Searles and Jane Smith trophies exclude the winners of the Norman Cup and Rosebowl, the Jane Smith trophy additionally excludes the Horsham 1000 Cup winners. These exclusions are to avoid significant double counting of scores.
- Where a member joins during the year, results obtained before becoming a member are not included.
* Only the best 5 results with any one partner to count for Griggs Cup. At least three different partners are required to qualify.
