The new competition is awarded to the member achieving the highest average percentage with more than 3 partners.

| BILL BROUGHTON MEMORIAL SHIELD 2013 |
2013 was the Inaugural Year of this Event.
This event was created in memory of Bill Broughton, who sadly died during 2012 whilst still in office as Chairman of Horning Bridge Club. The trophy was generously donated by his widow, Joyce Broughton who, together with Bill, always worked extremely hard for the good of the Club. Sadly, Joyce was unable to see the first winners of the Trophy she donated, as she too has now passed away. Both Bill and Joyce will always be fondly remembered.
This competition has replaced the annual Random Pairs event, but still retains that event's random pairs format.
