All Day Play with Luncheon 29 Oct 07

The tournament was very well attended with over 40 members present. Guests from the Norfolk Bridge Association and Mrs Gabrielle Hubbard were also welcomed.

We played a pivot movement, finishing at 12.45 for lunch.  At 2.00 we continued play again until approximately 4.00.

In recognition for his time, effort and skills, given to club over the years, Bill presented Ron Hunt with a small gift with thanks from the whole club.

  10 Dec Christmas Party
10 Dec Christmas Party

This was an extremely well attended evening.  Refreshments were offered on arrival, before settling down to play bridge.

A Pivot movement was played until we stopped for the buffet.

The food, having been supplied by the good members of the club, was magnificent, with tables groaning from the various choices of savouries and sweets.

During this evening we presented gifts to a very special member Bill Greenhill - see other news item.

The evening was completed with prize giving for the winners and losers.

Finally there was a very generous raffle, with prizes also donated by members.

The club was very pleased to send all monies raised from the raffle to the Quiddenham Children's Hospice.

Bill Greenhill's Birthday - Christmas Party
Bill Greenhill's Birthday - Christmas Party

The Club couldn't go without celebrating the birthday of this most well respected member, Bill Greenhill.  He won't mind the world knowing that he is now 90 years young and what an inspiration he is.  In this photo you can see him with Tessa (Shingler) and Bill (Broughton) with Jenny (Pearce) taking the photo.

Tessa gave us some wonderful anecdotes of Bill's life in and around Horning with some very intersting details of his links to the diocese of Norwich and St Benet's Abbey.

This celebration added to the further enjoyment of the evening.

Suzanne, sent her congratulations and was sorry she couldn't be there

SanFrancisco Update

Notes from SanFrancisco. - Graham Grist.

'We all visited Las Vegas for a night on the way to the Grand Canyon.  Suzanne took a day tour down the beautiful Pacific Highway to Carmel and Monterey, of Clint Eastwood fame.

Suzanne took a great number of pictures.  Hopefully she will be able to supply a few pictures for the website, along with more information.

We played in 10 events out of the 200 that make up the 10 day North American Bridge Championship, scoring points in 7 of them."
