Starting with the opening lead (having, of course, listened to the information from the bidding) it goes through to Phase 2 where the defenders try to calculate their top tricks and the method of increasing them. Phase 3 is then about realising the plan. He makes the point several times that defending in Duplicate Pairs is extremely difficult since it is not always clear how many tricks are needed to get a good score (Match Points are given to the best score so it is not always necessary to defeat the contract).

Overall, well worth watching for the tips on how to defend at Pairs.
