The Club runs courses for beginners every year.

The 2016 course started on Wednesday 5th October at 1.30 p.m. It is still possible for new students to join.

The course is run over 30 weeks divided into 3 terms each of 10 weeks though an occasional extra week is often added depending on the progress of the group.

The first lesson is free but the club then requires a commitment from students for the term. Each term costs £60.

Concessionary course fees are available to students who are in receipt of means tested state benefits reducing the fee by 50%.

Course fees can be paid directly by cash or cheque to the teacher or by electronic transfer to Hitchin Bridge Club Lloyds Bank sort code 30:94:30 account number 02212602, please give your name and 'course fees' as the reference.

Obviously students make better progress if they can attend every week but with other commitments this is not always possible.The teacher will provide details of any week's lesson missed if you tell her in advance.

Each lesson lasts approximately 2 hours but students are then welcome to stay for refreshments, play amongst themselves or watch play in the main club room.
