Members of the Hitchin club go every Thursday lunchtime to teach Year 5 and 6 children at Samuel Lucas JMI School how to play Bridge. Recently the club ran a session where the students came along to observe and play some games with the members. See the Hitchin website for more details.

The HBA charity for the 2023-24 season is Open Door St Albans. Their aim is to support people who have experienced homelessness or are at risk of sleeping rough.  The Charity funds improvements to the Open Door shelter, as well as covering the costs of outreach services and the volunteer coordinator.
