7th August. EWBA Swiss Teams at Newport.  We scraped into the top ten of 36 teams (Gareth Jones, Anthony Stevens, Julie and Peter Milewski).  Full results here.

27th June. Bill Hughes SIMs.  Congratulations to Julie Milewski and Ian Haston who came 60th worldwide of 962 pairs thus netting themselves £13 each and a certificate. Full results here. 

9th-16th May.  Club Open Pairs.  Congratulations to the winners Eric Hartland and Peter Milewski, and to Barry Thorne and Bill Elsdon (2nd), and Cindy Middleton and Gloria Walters (3rd).  Details here (Average of best two results).

8th May.  John Isaac Pairs and WWBA AGM.  This was well attended with thirty-one pairs taking part.  Our little club has yet again put up an excellent showing in both events of the day.  Congratulations to Gareth Jones on his appointment as the new Chairman and Anthony Stevens on taking up the post of Secretary.  Also congratulations to our players who were extremely well represented in the top ten:  Eric Hartland and Peter Milewski (1st), Angela and Chris Overton (3rd), Irene Delahunty and Lee Collier (4th), Wally and Wendy Heaton (5th), Julie Milewski and Ian Haston (10th).  That is, of nine Haverfordwest pairs who took part, five were in the top ten.  Also some of the Tenby Club players who are well known in Haverfordwest distinguished themselves.  Lucy Brooker and John Valentine came 6th and the Ann Dolan Cup for Novices was carried off by Rob Butler and Jane Herbert.  The full results can be found here and photos here.

14th March.  Club Mixed Pairs Final Result:  Congratulations to the winners Sarah Walters and Barry Thorne 57.13%, to the runners-up Wendy and Wally Heaton 54.63%, and to the 3rd pair Jill and John O'Sullivan 53.70%.

12th and 13th March.  National Open Pairs Final.  Congratulations to two of our pairs who came in the top 10 (well, 11 actually) of 27 pairs: Angela and Chris Overton 9th and Beryl and Howard Warner 11th.  Full results here.

17th January 2016.  National Open Pairs Qualifier.  Congratulations to Gareth Jones and Anthony Stevens who came second.  We also have three other pairs who have qualified for the Final:  Wally and Wendy Heaton (6th), Howard and Beryl Warner (9th) and Angela and Chris Overton (11th).  Barry Thorne and Ann Dassen didn't quite make the cut at 13th but will get into the Final too in the likely event of a drop-out.  Full results here.

16th January 2016.  Congratulations to the Preseli Players (Julie Milewski, Lee Collier, Ian Haston and Eric Hartland) on being the clear winners of the Western League Division 1.  The results (and a nice photo) can be found on the WWBA site.

21st December.  Annual Christmas Party Event.  Thanks to the organizers for a jolly event (if somewhat noisy!)  A Mitchell movement yielded two winning pairs who had exactly equally percentages (63.99%) - Irene Delahunty and Lee Collier, Eric Hartland and Peter Milewski.  See Results.

6th December.  Area Mixed Pairs.  Congratulations to Julie and Peter Milewski who got 2nd.  Full results here.  Note: the Final is being arranged by direct entry this year.

30th November.  Celtic SIMs.  Wendy and Wally Heaton have come a creditable 10th of 196 pairs nationally (as at 9.30 the morning after).  Up to date rankings here.

27th to 29th November.  Porthcawl Congress.  Again a creditable showing from our own county.  Congratulations to the following who won prizes:  Angela John and Chris Overton (Flitch Cup 27th November), Gareth Jones, Anthony Stevens, Lee Collier, Peter Milewski (Prince of Wales Consolation Cup 29th November).  Also Kevin Thomas and his team from the Tenby Club Liz Crockford with Aileen and Martin Nelan, won the Seagull Cup!  The full results can be found here.

1st November.  Western Area League 2015-16.  The result of our Red team split (see below) and the need for promotion of the Blue team to the Championship was that the remaining Red members have had to placed in Division One. The first round of matches took place on 1st November.  After two matches both Blue and Red teams were top of their sections (Beryl Warner, Championship League, Julie Milewski, Division 1).  Details here.

17-18 October and 31st October-1st November.  Premier League in Llandrindod Wells.  Owing to two members of our winning Western Area Championship team being unable to make it, the organizers agreed for our Premier League team to be made up as long as half the members were from the original team.  On the first weekend Peter Milewski, Mike Baker and Steve Jarvis were supplemented by Nick Forrest, Rob Charlesworth and Tony Haworth.  On the second weekend Peter, Mike, Steve and Nick were on their own.  We finished a creditable 5th of 8 teams so have avoided relegation!  Full results here.

October 2015.  Regrettably, Gareth Jones has had to step down as WBU President because of illness.  However, Judith Graham-Jones has kindly agreed to take over for the remainder of the tenure.  There are some lovely pictures of her making the presentations at the Porthcawl Congress 29th November.

21st July. Bridgemates in use again.  Each device has now been labelled and set to its own specific table b so you no longer need to set that.  Phew! one fewer sources of error.

21st June.  Teams of Eight final.  Our team came 5th of 10.  see full results here.

14th June.  Mixed Pairs final.  Three pairs attended from our club out of a total of 20.  Peter and Julie Milewski ascended to the dizzy heights of 6th! see full results here.

8th June.  First trial of our new Bridgemates. A couple of glitches which will be easily sorted.  Next trial on the scorer's return from holiday (6th July).

29th March.  Laidlaw Murray Teams at Tumble.  Our little club continues to do well in Western Area competitions.  Congratulations to Jill and John O'Sullivan with Mike Baker and Steve Jarvis who came 2nd, and to Wally and Wendy Heaton with Angela John and Chris Overton who came fourth.  Our other team also managed to get into the top half (6th of 13 teams), Eric Hartland and Peter Milewski with Ian Haston and Julie Milewski.  Full results on WWBA site here.

This has been taken down by the WBU owing to expiry of the domain for which they were paying.  Unfortunately this has led to the loss of the archived results dating back to 2008.  There are some archived results on the club computer which can be checked if anybody has a burning desire to look at them.

Porthcawl Congress 28-30 November 2014.  Steve Jarvis and Nick Forrest came 2nd in the Championship Qualifier, and Steve's team (Steve, Nick, Lee Collier and Peter Milewski) came top in their section of the Teams Qualifier.  So these gained small prizes but unfortunately we didn't manage glory in the Finals.
