Moira’s funeral will be held on Thursday 11^th December at 1pm at St Aelred’s Catholic Church, 71 Woodlands Drive, HG2 7BE.

The wake will be held afterwards at Pavilions of Harrogate, Wetherby Road.

It would help the family to arrange the catering if they knew roughly how many people would be attending the wake. Ron Ransome is liaising with the family. Could any members intending to attend the wake please let him know, either in person at the club or by email. His email address is ransomeron@gmail.com.

£1,000 - WOW!!

In addition to the table money from the two sessions and donations collected from club members, we have received a very generous donation from a club member which has been matched by the club - thank you.

A BIG THANK YOU  to everyone who joined in, either playing or helping to organise the sessions, dealing the cards and promoting the event.   We had 13 tables on Monday and on Wednesday night an unprecedented number of tables - 15, cramped into both playing rooms but still very enjoyable and worthwhile.

Wednesday

Judy Cope

We are a welcoming and friendly bridge club catering for players of all standards.  We run six pairs sessions per week. Master points are awarded.  We also have classes for beginners and intermediates, and occasional instruction on specific topics.

For the more competitive players we have three teams in the Yorkshire Sunday League.   Many of our players also group together to make teams of four that play in the Harrogate and District Bridge League against more local opposition.

Harrogate Bridge Club is located in the centre of this beautiful spa town.  The club has its own private licensed premises and is well established with over 250 members. 

Visiting pairs are always made welcome.

Congratulations to the following members who have recently earned Master Point promotions.

We are running 3 teams of 4 pairs in the Yorkshire League this season, playing against other Yorkshire teams, with home and away fixtures.  The matches are played on a Sunday afternoon against players of roughly the same standard.  There are 7 divisions.

The remaining fixtures are on 15th February, 8th March and 29th March.

Please be tolerant of players who don’t get all the updated procedures exactly right straight away – it’s meant to be an exercise in informing your opponents of your methods, not an excuse for trying to get one over on them!
