Grand National Teams Flight C Winners
Grand National Teams Flight C Winners

The ACBL Grand National Teams District 4 Flight C was held at Harrisburg Bridge Club March 2 and 3. There were a total of 11 teams competing in this Swiss teams event to represent District 4 at the Nationals being held in Toronto in July. We are very happy to report that the 1st AND 2nd place teams are members of the Harrisburg Bridge Club! Finishing 1st was the team of Robert and Jane Davenport, Kurt Meyer, and Rick McMullin. The 2nd place team was Kamrul Khan, Darius Kapadia, Monica Knopf, Ray Rizzo, and Bill Even. Both teams will represent District 4 and get a stipend for some expenses. Congratulations to all and good luck in Toronto!

Upcoming Game Schedule

Note: The Tuesday afternoon open & 0-750 pairs games this week are part of an ACBL-wide charity event offering extra masterpoints and a handout with expert hand analysis.    
 
Here is the complete game schedule at HBC for the upcoming week ($8 table fee unless otherwise noted):     

* Monday March 25th - open pairs at 12:30 PM; and 0-500 pairs & Bid & Play class at 6:30 PM (NO mini-lesson due to Bid & Play)  
* Tuesday March 26th - open & 0-750 pairs 12:30 PM (ACBL-wide charity games); and 0-1500 pairs at 6:30 PM
* Wednesday March 27th - 0-500 pairs at 12:30 PM (mini lesson at 11:45); and assisted practice session for 0-50 players at 12:30 PM; and open and 0-750 Swiss teams at 6:30 PM ($10; dinner at 5:45; advance registration required)
* Thursday March 28th - open pairs at 12:30 PM
* Friday March 29th - 0-750 pairs at 12:30 PM

Harrisburg Bridge Club will be hosting it's first Game Night on Wednesday April 10 starting with a pizza dinner at 5:45 PM. All club members as well as their families and friends will be eligible to participate in this event which will serve as a fundraiser for the Alzheimer's Association. Advance registration for Game Night is required so that we know how much food will be needed. See PDF below for more details on Game Night as well as registration procedures. Current COVID-19 Protocols (June 2023)

Effective 1 June 2023, vaccination for COVID-19 is no longer required to play bridge at HBC. Face masks are not required, although masks are still recommended for participants who are at high risk for severe illness. Disposable masks and hand sanitizer will still be available at the club. In consideration of your fellow club members, we ask that you monitor your health and avoid coming to the club if you are ill.
