New members who live in / around Harpenden or who will be partnering a club member are most welcome. Please note that we do not accept membership applications from people out of the area who wish to join so as to play solely in our online sessions.
Points to note:
- our membership year runs Jan 1 - Dec 31
- the annual membership subscription is normally £15 pa. but reduced to £10 for 2023. If you join part way through the year, a reduced amount will apply; the Membership Secretary will advise you as to how much.
- our online pairs events are held on Real Bridge. These currently run on Tuesday evenings 7.30pm. The main article on the home page "Play Online" explains what's needed for you to take part.
- face-to-face games are played on Monday evenings at 7:30 and there is a more relaxed session on Friday afternoons 2.00pm.
- members are welcome to play in any session
- table money for members for all sessions is £2.00 per player. These fees will be reviewed annually.
- members will be billed quarterly in arrears and the amount due will be paid by bank transfer.
- by joining, you will automatically be enrolled as a member of the English Bridge Union (EBU)
- from a data protection standpoint, be aware that we share your details with the EBU and Hertfordshire Bridge Association for the purposes of operating a bridge club and administering the game in the UK
- email is the main channel for communication to members
- for face-to-face sessions pre-covid, we operated a Duty Officer rota. If things improve and it gets reinstated, all members would be expected to support this system on the day(s) they regularly play and be available for occasional turns as the Duty Officer. However if there are extenuating circumstances, the Committee will grant exemption from this responsibility.
