Minutes of Nidderdale Bridge Club AGM
Monday 4 th September 2023 1pm
Kay Thorpe welcomed 16 members and especially our new members
Apologies were received from Jill Alexander, Rosey Moulder,
Cathy Duffield, Janet Palmer and Phil and Elaine Webster.
David Hoskins has been co opted onto the committee as scorer.
Kay thanked the committee and scorers for all their work over the year.
Margaret Simpson is stepping down as social secretary. Morag Ross said that she would arrange the Christmas tea on December 4th. This will hopefully follow the successful format of last year with a 1 o’clock start and tea at 3.30.
Margaret was thanked for her work over the years as social secretary and partner wanted secretary.
Treasurer’s report
Colin presented the financial statement for the club. We are breaking even and so it was decided that subs and table money would not increase and that subs would not be taken until January as this is fairer on the members who joined mid year.
Colin thanked Helen and Margaret for collecting the table money when he is away.
Four tables a week makes us viable.
Jean and Rosemary were congratulated on winning the Suttill Trophy.
The last day of play will be December 18 th. Restart 8 th January 2024.
Meeting closed shortly after it started!!

| Objects (Sample) |
The objects of "The Club" shall be to provide facilities for the playing of Duplicate Bridge.

| General Rules (Sample) |
Competitions shall be held at such times and under such conditions as the general committee or any sub-committee shall determine.
Any suggestions or complaints regarding the arrangements of "The Club" shall be submitted in writing and handed to the secretary or any member of the general committee and shall be considered at the next committee meeting.
"The Club" accepts no responsibility whatever for the property or belongings of any member or visitor whilst on the premises of "The Club".
Any matter not provided for in these regulations and all questions arising regarding their construction or implication shall be decided by the general committee.
The Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary and members of the general committee shall not be responsible, either individually or jointly, for any liabilities incurred by "The Club". All members shall be equally responsible for any liabilities incurred during their time of membership.
Alterations, additions or amendments to these regulations and constitution cannot be made except by a resolution at a general meeting.
These regulations and constitution were adopted at the Annual General Meeting held on 1st of January 2000. |
