Improvers Courses

Learn to play Bridge with friendly and experienced Bridge tutor Mick Clark, now accredited by the EBU as a
'Professional Bridge Teacher'.

A new Improvers course starts each May.

The Club has a dedicated training room with varied teaching aids, including a large display screen and PowerPoint presentations. The Club also has a licenced bar, large kitchen, ground floor playing area and there is ample free on street parking after 6pm.

Students start with a good knowledge of the basics of the game and by week 27 will be able to play an accomplished game of bridge. It is hoped that once the students have completed the improvers course they will start playing in sessions on a Tuesday afternoon (1pm) and a Wednesday evening (7pm) if they haven't already done so, but will be able to hold their own in any of the sessions held at the club.

The course is 25 weeks long and lesson costs are £30 for each block of 10 lessons, plus £25 for the EBU course book “Continuing Bridge” which covers the full 25 week-course.

Lessons are from 7pm until about 9.15pm, but if you can get there for 6.30pm Mick will do a quick revision of the previous weeks lesson.

For more details or to book a place contact Mick at mclark2@gmail.com or on 07927 409142.

Improvers Play Sessions

Improvers Play Sessions are run on a Thursday afternoon at 1pm and Friday evening at 7pm. These sessions are relaxed and hosted (hosted means that you can turn up without a partner and the director will play to make up a pair if required).

Approximately 15 hands will be played depending on the number of tables.

Players can use crib sheets and ask the director for guidance.
