Beginners Course

Learn to play Bridge with friendly and experienced Bridge tutor Mick Clark, now accredited by the EBU as a
'Professional Bridge Teacher'.

A new Beginners course in partnership with Calderdale Adult Education starts each September, and the first 2 lessons are free taster lessons so that you can see if it’s for you.

The course is 32 weeks long and lesson costs are £30 for each block of 10 lessons, plus £20 for the EBU course book “Beginning Bridge” which covers the full 32 week-course.

We will also be providing a free play session from the 23rd of September until April 2017, on a Friday Evening from 7pm until about 9.30pm.

Students start with the absolute basics of the game and by week 32 will be able to play a competent game of bridge. It is hoped that once the students have completed the Beginners course they will join the club as Member’s (£10) and start playing in Improvers sessions, and then follow straight on to the Improvers course which will start when the Beginners course ends in April 2017.

Lessons are from 7pm until about 9.30pm, but if you can get there for 6.30pm Mick will do a quick revision of the previous weeks lesson.
N.B. Lessons alternate yearly between Tuesday and Thursday, this year they are on a Tuesday, next year (starting in September 2017) they will be on a Thursday.

For more details or to book a place contact Mick at mclark2@gmail.com or on 07927 409142.

Beginners Play Sessions

From the 23rd of September 2016 until April 2017, Beginners Play Sessions will be run on a Friday evening at 7pm (Upstairs). These sessions are relaxed and hosted (hosted means that you can turn up without a partner and the director will play to make up a pair if required).

Approximately 10 boards will be played.

Players can use crib sheets and ask the director for guidance.
