Club Competitions/Events 2023-24 |
Congratulations to Christine and Christopher Nicholson winners of the Swiss Pairs. Well done to Martin Evans and Andy Hardy who came a close second.
The next competition is the
Individual
The Individual Competition for the Clarice Sutcliffe Cup will take place on the evening of Wednesday, 15 May starting at 7pm.
The competition involves playing with different partners during the evening which is both challenging and enjoyable.
The competition will be played using standard Acol, but with a limited number of conventions to avoid delays when changing partners. Permitted conventions will be announced on the night.
Because of the nature of the competition we need to know in advance the number of entrants. For this reason, members wishing to play are asked to email Martin Evans if they wish to enter. The competition will be restricted to whole tables, so if there is a part table on the list it will be a case of first come first served, with the last names becoming reserves. So, if you would like to play it is advisable to get your names down as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
The closing date for entries is 8th May.
If you put your name down to play, but then find that you are unable to play, please ensure that your name is removed from the list.
Members must be in place by 6.50pm.
Eligibility Criteria
“Members who have played at the club a minimum of 12 times in the past 12 months or 6 times in the last 3 months shall be eligible to play in this competition. Any variation from this shall be at the discretion of the trustees”. Anyone who believes they should be exempt from the eligibility criteria should advise the trustees why they believe they should be exempt.
In addition, members must have played F2F at the club within 28 days of the relevant club competition. These to be normal club sessions, not Sunday league or similar.
