Release Notes - Release 2.12

• Backward/Forward Buttons - Release 2.12a
  • Within the Site Administration you can now use buttons to go backward and forward through items rather than having to go back to the [List]
• Changes to Page Style - Release 2.12d
  • Some additional options have been made available to enhance the look of your web site (some might think!)
  • The following are available through the "Site Style"
  • Change the border of the banner
  • Change the border of the main body
  • Have a background picture
  • Home Page - Select how many forward Calender entries to show.
  • Home Page - Show list of "Recent Results", especially useful if you play more than once a week
  • The following is available through the "Page Style" and applicable to each "News" page.
  • The ability to set a border round the body of the page, a background colour and a default Font colour for all entries on the page. Probably quite useful on the home page.
  • You may need to experiment with these new features to find something suitable, if at all.
• Competition - Total Percentage - Release 2.12e
  • An extra option for a Total of percentages
• Competition Link to Details for Players - Release 2.12e
  • When you hover over a name, you can click to see all the details for the individual, pair, rather than just the columns shown on the screen.
• Document Library - 2.12
  • There is a facility to review all the documents on the web site and rename or delete them.
• Enhanced Update Options - 2.12
  • When you log in, 2 new options will show, "Update News Pages" and "Update Club Settings". These are similar to the existing "Update" options, but with enhancements to make setting the web site up easier and quicker and avoid Browser security issues.
• Enhancements to Results Display - 2.12
  • There is a "Next Board" button on the Traveller section of the "Personal Scorecards". On the ranking it will now skip the first surnames on a pair with the same surname. When printing Travellers it will page break every third set of boards.
• Extra Page Style - Release 2.12e
  • This page shows an extra style that can be chosen for a News page. Go to "Web Administration" - e.g. "News" - "Page Style" and set the template style to "Shadow Box".
• Hand of the Week - Release 2.12f
  • There is a facility to add a "Hand-of-the-Week" to a News Story. Click on "Add Hand" and then you can enter the cards and bids in a formatted fashion and these will be automatically included in the News page.
• Link for Email on Member Message - Release 2.15a
  • An icon will show on the Messages list to allow you to click to send an email to the person creating that message. Also you can now add your telephone/mobile number in the Account option which will show below your name on any Messages that you create.
• Map Site - 2.12
  • You can now choose which Street map to use, Multimap, Streetmap or Google. This may be helpful if one gives a better indication to find your club rather than another.
• Member List - 2.12
  • If you upload members, you can choose what fields to show.
• Name of Scorer - Release 2.12f
  • If you use the Automatic ScoreBridge upload the name of the scorer will show on the "Rank" page of the results.
• Option to Turn off Announcing Rules - Release 2.12a
  • There is an option to turn off the "Announcing Page" for those clubs outside the EBU.
• Password is remembered - 2.12
  • When you login, the password will be remembered, using "Cookies". If you allow access to cookies, then it will not be necessary to enter the password to update the site (you can ignore the password box, this has been left for backward compatibility). If you do not access the web site for 10 minutes, you will need to login again.
• Performance Improvement - Release 2.12d
  • It has been noticed that some competitions may take 3/4 seconds to display. This is especially true for competitions covering a whole year or those with a large number of tables at each event.
  • A change has been made so that the system checks to see if any new results have been uploaded or the competition definition has changed. If so it recalculates the table and saves a copy. If not, it uses that saved copy and thus bypasses the heavy processing of the competition data.
  • In effect, this means that for the first user and first time that a particular competition page is accessed after results have been uploaded, it will still take a number of seconds, but thereafter that it will be much quicker. This is done on a competition by competition basis.
• Picture Gallery - 2.12
  • There is a facility to Upload and Resize pictures and review. You can also look at all the pictures on the site and resize or delete them.
• Print Button - Release 2.12
  • The "Full Screen", "Print", "New Features" and "Help" buttons have been moved above the menu. Users with small/old screens could not see the buttons well on the right hand side and this gives a bit more space across the screen.
  • Please feel free to let me know if you think any of the ideas in Release 2.12 are not working properly or you would prefer them as they were.
• Results Scorecard Page - Release 2.12
  • The layout of the Results pages have been adjusted to better fit on the screen and make them clearer.
• ScoreBridge Automatic Upload - Release 2.12e
  • ScoreBridge Release 8.7.03 now has a facility to upload directly to bridgewebs. You DO NOT need to upgrade your bridgewebs web site, there is a new independent program in bridgewebs designed to talk directly to ScoreBridge. For more information click
• Special Web Pages - Release 2.12
  • There is an extra choice when entering Special Pages. You can choose whether to embed the page within the bridgewebs page. Usually the "embed" choice should be OK if the Web page has been created using recognized software and will display quicker. But if it corrupts the look of the page you may need to use the "frame" option and set the height and width. This option uses a frame which loads it separately in a box within the page and cannot corrupt the bridgewebs page.
• Unused/Not Required Pages - 2.12
  • The hiding of unused/not required pages has been extended
• Update Logos/Map - 2.12
  • If you have the means to create logos, you can upload them into the picture gallery and replace the standard logos. Similarly, if you have an image for directions to your club you can upload and use that.
• Update Menu - Release 2.12a
  • There is an "Update Menu" within the "Site Administration" which looks like the standard web site menu, but by clicking on it, it takes you straight to the correct update option.
• Update Web Pages now includes Constitution - Release 2.12
  • The constitution is now entered and maintained the same way as any other Information or News page, allowing you to use the Editor and other features.
• Upgrade Option Available - Release 2.12
  • You can now upgrade your club yourself to Release 2.12. There is an extra option in "Update Club Settings".
• View Page - Release 2.12a
  • There is now an extra option to review any page where relevant, such as the Competitions, without having to return to the web site
