Calendar - Calendar FeaturesEntries in the "Calendar" are entered as "Events", you can enter as much or as little information for an event as required. These will appear in the "Calendar", "Home Page" as necessary. Each entry can have:-
- "Date"
- "Event No", usually 1 unless you play more than once a day. See Multiple Events for more information.
- "Title"
- "Type" of event. See Events (Highlight) for more information.
- "Location" and "Time" if applicable. If you normally play at the same place, leave this blank and only use for special events that may be played elsewhere, remember, if there is an important event in a club near you, you can record it on your calendar.
- "ECATS Session No" for ECATS Simultaneous event. See ECATS Simultaneous Sessions for more information.
- "Director", if you want this to show up on the calendar or home page.
- "Scorer", if you want this to show up on the calendar or home page.
- "Host", if you want this to show up on the calendar or home page.
- "Dealer", if you want this to show up on the calendar or home page.
- "Steward", if you want this to show up on the calendar or home page.
- "Master Points" are/are not required, adjust as necessary
- "Short Comment" to show up on the calendar or home page.
- "Full Comment" to show up above the results.
- "Information Web Page" if there is some more information about this particular event on the web site, set it and an extra "More Info" link will show up on the calendar.
Once an event has passed into history, i.e.. older than today, it will be dropped from the "Calendar Page" and show up on the "Results Page" instead. There is one entry in the calendar which simply becomes the result entry with extra information.
The Calendar is a database of the club's activities with one entry for each event, scheduled or played. You can maintain this completely manually by entering the details one at a time. However, there are a number of options to speed up this process.
- "Quick Update". Choose this to enter the details for a particular day of the week. Cutting & Pasting as necessary. This is particularly useful if you have a Rota of individual scorers or other and then you can Paste into each appropriate box. Click "Second Event" etc, for a second set of events on the day of the week.
- "Schedule" - If the events each week are simply a repeat, week on week, then enter the details in the Schedule and the Calendar will be automatically completed at the start of the Month, so at the start of June, the entries for August will be automatically added where there isn't already an entry. So for a "Bank Holiday" enter this manually for the particular date.
- "Copy" - Click on an existing entry and click Copy, Bridgewebs will move the date forward by 1 week and you can [Save] to confirm and repeat.
