NEXT CUMBRIA COUNTY EVENT- AGM and AGM PAIRS on Wednesday 16th August 2017 at 6.00PM at BARROW BRIDGE CLUB

Welcome to the Grange over Sands Bridge Club web site.
We hope you will find everything you need to know about playing Bridge at our Club
which meets at the Netherwood Hotel every Tuesday at 6.45PM for 7.00PM.

VERY IMPORTANT

SECOND CHANGE OF VENUE

Bridge at Grange-over-Sands on Tuesday 27th June 2017 will be held at the Methodist Church Hall in Grange. We are sorry about this second change of venue but the Committee was only advised this evening that the United Reformed Church Hall would not be available because of ongoing flood damage repairs. This is the St. Mary's Hospice Simultaneous Pairs event and we hope that as many of our members will come along to support this worthwhile charity. There will be no stand-in and the same hands will be played at Barrow and Kendal on Monday 26th June so if you play at either of those clubs on that evening you will unfortunately not be able to play at Grange on Tuesday 27th June.

DIRECTIONS TO GRANGE HOTEL

From the Netherwood Hotel turn right on to the road in to Grange and after about 50 yards turn right into the entrance to Grange Hotel. The car park is on the right at the bottom of the hill but there is some space at the top of the hill nearer the entrance.

Directions to United Reformed Church Hall, Grange over Sands

Coming into Grange from Kendal or Windermere, initially follow the signs for Cartmel.

Drive into the centre of Grange up Main Street, past all the shops.

At the mini-roundabout at the top of the hill (Crown Hill), TURN RIGHT.

After about 100 yards you will come to a crossroads.

(You will see the library building (The Links) opposite, the steep hill to Cartmel is straight ahead.) TURN LEFT into KENTS BANK ROAD.

About 200 yards on the left is the public car park which is free after 6PM. The URC Hall is about 50 yards further on, next to the United Reformed Church and directly opposite the Lymehurst Hotel and Co-op Travel.

Very occasionally when the Netherwood Hotel is not available we meet at Allithwaite Community Centre. Here are instructions how to get there:

Directions to Allithwaite Community Centre

From the Netherwood drive into and straight through Grange

(with Morecambe Bay on your left – follow the signs for Flookburgh / Allithwaite).

About ½ mile after leaving Grange there is a very sharp right hand bend.

Soon afterwards you will see the Yakkers pub on your left.     Turn right opposite the pub.

After about 100 yards, past Knipe’s woodyard, you will see the Post Office on the right.     Turn right at the Post Office into Quarry Lane.

(Take care in Quarry Lane – there are speedbumps!)

Soon you will see the entrance to Allithwaite Playing fields on the left.

Enter here and the Community Centre is facing you with parking on the left.
