ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2016
The 2016 AGM of Grange over Sands Bridge Club will be held at the Netherwood Hotel on Tuesday 1st November 2016 at 6.15PM. Please try to be there if possible. This is your club and we welcome your input. If you wish to nominate a member to serve on the Committee there is a list on the Club notice board. Any resolutions for consideration at the AGM must be with the Club secretary no later than Monday 17th October 2016. We look forward to seeing you there.

BRIDGE CLUB NEW YEAR DINNER
The annual dinner will be held at Netherwood Hotel on Tuesday 10th January 2017 at 5.30PM for 6.00PM. There will be a two course meal with coffee and mints followed by Bridge and the cost is £23 per head. These are always very enjoyable events and hope you will be able to join us.

ENTRY FEES
£6 per player with the exception of the IMP Pairs (Blue Point event) which will be £7. The Inter Club Teams of 8 is £48 per team.

The highest positioned pair with allegiance to Cumbria who wishes to proceed to the Corwen Trophy will have the entry fee paid and receive £20 per player expenses. Other pairs with allegiance to Cumbria who qualify and wish to play in the Corwen Trophy will have to pay their own entry fee and will receive no expenses.

The winners will be entitled to play in the Pachabo Cup and will have the entry fee paid plus £20 per player expenses. If the winners are not able tom play in the Pachabo Cup the runners-up may play who will also receive free entry and the same expenses. The team in the Pachabo may also be a combination of the winners and runners-up. Only players with allegiance to Cumbria are able to represent Cumbria in the Pachabo.

RULES
As long as a player is a bona fide member of a Cumbrian club they can paly in the Championship Pairs and Championship Teams. All other events will be Open events at which any palyer may compete provided they are either EBU members or members of another country's sponsoring organisation.
NB Championship Teams
The competition has reverted to a one day qualifier with the top 2 teams playing a 24 Board match at their convenience to crown the County Champions. This is currently for 2015/2016 in an attempt to encourage more teams to enter and will be reviewed by the committee at the March 2016 meeting.

DIRECTIONS TO GRANGE HOTEL
From the Netherwood Hotel turn right on to the road in to Grange and after about 50 yards turn right into the entrance to Grange Hotel. The car park is on the right at the bottom of the hill but there is some space at the top of the hill nearer the entrance.

Directions to United Reformed Church Hall, Grange over Sands
Coming into Grange from Kendal or Windermere, initially follow the signs for Cartmel.
Drive into the centre of Grange up Main Street, past all the shops.
At the mini-roundabout at the top of the hill (Crown Hill), TURN RIGHT.
After about 100 yards you will come to a crossroads.
(You will see the library building (The Links) opposite, the steep hill to Cartmel is straight ahead.) TURN LEFT into KENTS BANK ROAD.
About 200 yards on the left is the public car park which is free after 6PM. The URC Hall is about 50 yards further on, next to the United Reformed Church and directly opposite the Lymehurst Hotel and Co-op Travel.

Very occasionally when the Netherwood Hotel is not available we meet at Allithwaite Community Centre. Here are instructions how to get there:
Directions to Allithwaite Community Centre
From the Netherwood drive into and straight through Grange
(with Morecambe Bay on your left – follow the signs for Flookburgh / Allithwaite).
About ½ mile after leaving Grange there is a very sharp right hand bend.
Soon afterwards you will see the Yakkers pub on your left. Turn right opposite the pub.
After about 100 yards, past Knipe’s woodyard, you will see the Post Office on the right. Turn right at the Post Office into Quarry Lane.
(Take care in Quarry Lane – there are speedbumps!)
Soon you will see the entrance to Allithwaite Playing fields on the left.
Enter here and the Community Centre is facing you with parking on the left.
