| WEEKEND AWAY in WINCHESTER |
Another successful Weekend Away was held at the Winchester Royal Hotel from October 14th to 16th, with 40 Club members participating. Overall Pairs winners were Sandy & John Bamberg, and the Swiss Teams winners were Mary Taylor, Penny Jennings, Janet Pedley & Adrian Gaunt. Thanks to Paul Smith for making all of the excellent arrangements.

The Club’s annual Swiss Teams competition is taking place again this year at the Beaconsfield Golf Club, on Sunday, November 20th – with lunch! Application forms with further details are available at the Club, and also by clicking here. Always a great event – and entry forms must be for teams of four.

The EBU has published new editions of Laws & Ethics effective from 1/8/13. As a Club, we try to follow that guidance. Major changes affecting players are for Announcements and Alerting, and in particular announcing short minor-suit openings. | GX MEMORIAL CENTRE FIRE REGULATIONS |
| Instructions have been given to all users of the Memorial Centre on what to do in case of a fire. These are posted on the club's notice board. Please take time to read them, and remember that everyone must go immediately to the fire assembly point in the main car park on the discovery of a fire. |
