Now you're here looking at your most recent result and wreathed in smiles (or maybe not) why not look around a bit more and check out the other stuff that's here? How about 'Useful Links' (it's over on the left at the bottom of the menu). Once there you can wander on over to the Suffolk Contract Bridge website or the EBU. Best of all; 'Bridge Base Online'. Eight free ACOL boards every day (another twelve on Sunday) to enjoy over breakfast and improve your bridge while you boost your colesterol: start your day the Webmaster way.

| Club Youth Initiative |
Bridge has an image problem and Framlingham BC is no exception. Participation in the game is heavily skewed towards the over 60s and notable for the lack of the under 30s. Fortunately the Club Committee have hit upon a cunning plan that has the potential to turn this around within weeks. Every journey begins with a step and this is where you Dear Reader come in: do you know of a young person who lives with you possibly tucked away in a drawer and not seen for years who could be encouraged to sit next to you on these pages. Please let the Webmaster have a photograph either by hand or by email to accompany the new wannabe's application for membership. He or she might eventually be persuaded to sit in for you when your results are posted and thereby play their part in projecting a more youthful image of the game, images like this one:
The Webmaster's slightly questioning look was possibly prompted by his mother's rather ill-advised opening bid of a gambling 3NT. This was surprising because: 1. His mother was not the sort of woman who gambled on anything, and; 2. She never played bridge in her life and thought it was strictly for posh people. Her son taking up bridge simply convinced her that he had ideas above his station and wanted to rub shoulders with the rich and famous; he so should have brought her along to the club. He could also be looking that way because he felt it was high time for a change of underwear. It was a long time ago and he doesn't really remember which if either of those explanations is correct.
