FRAMFIELD BRIDGE CLUB

Contact: Secretary: Ian Thornton 01825 841066  ian.thorntonhalland@gmail.com

We meet on Tuesday mornings at

The Clubhouse of Buxted Park Sports Association

We ask that you arrive by 9.15 am at the latest to allow for a prompt 9.20 am start.

We aim to finish by 12.40 pm.

We are a relaxed, friendly group with mixed abilities, making new members and visitors welcome.

We usually have four to six tables playing duplicate bridge.

Resumption of Meetings

Members agreed we should bring our own drink and snack for the mid-session break.

There is a need to come with a partner, but if you need help to find one, contact Ian Thornton.

Every effort will be made to find a partner for potential new members (contact the Secretary).

Ian will email all members prior to each session to ask for attendance and partner information.

For further information contact either myself or the Secretary Ian Thornton

Janice Bell.   Chair        May 2022

Brief History

Ron Buddery, a retired Maths teacher, started teaching Bridge in the early 90's and as his classes flourished he moved to Framfield Church Hall and in 1996, with help from Norwyn Sharples, he founded the Framfield Bridge Club with Joyce Hogan being the first Chairman. Ron became the Club's first Director and was also elected Life President. Following his death in 2016 Margaret, his wife, was unanimously elected Life President. The current Chairman is Janice Bell.

The Club moved to the Buxted Park Sports Association Clubhouse in 2016 as this provided excellent parking facilities for members in addition to excellent playing conditions.

Over the years the Club has developed into a friendly, duplicate Bridge playing Club that meets on a Tuesday morning. There is a tea/coffee break mid-morning which allows opportunity for members to socialise. We pro-actively match solo players in the days before each session.

New members always welcome - please come along as a guest and have a game. Contact the Secretary for more details.
