RULES
Meeting Nights
The Club meets at Ravenmeols Community Centre on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings except on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and Day and Good Friday or on days specified on the Club notice board. Play will normally commence at 7.30 pm. Members are expected to be present by 7.20 pm.
Tournament Directors
A Tournament Director will be appointed to conduct each playing session. Normally the Club Captain will officiate, otherwise the Vice-Captain or other Officer, or any competent Member present.
Visitors
Unless specifically exempted by the Committee, visitors are restricted to a maximum of three visits in any one financial year when they may play on any evening except club competition nights. Prospective members, unless specifically exempted by the Committee, must play on three occasions before completing a membership application form. Once the application form is displayed on the notice board, they may play on any evening except club competition nights until the Committee has considered the application. Members introducing visitors and prospective members must ensure their names are recorded in the visitor’s book.
Smoking
Smoking is not permitted in the Community Centre room and outside environment of the Community Centre as set down by Sefton Council for the Centre. Consumption of alcohol is not permitted at the Centre unless permission has been given by the Community Centre Committee/Sefton Council for special events.
Competitions
Competition rules, dates of play, competition fees, prize money and method of scoring will be decided by the Committee. Only full paid up members may play in any Competition. Competitions are held monthly from October to March with the four best scores from the six sessions counting towards the final result. No member may join a competition after the 3rdsession as they will then be unable to complete the necessary four sessions to produce a result. Members may not play with the same partner in more than one annual Competition. On competition nights (Club Championship and Handicap) the tournament director will ensure that all competing members gain their scores from the same set of boards. Prize money for Competitions as follows: Club Championship Winning pair £30 each, 2ndplaced pair £10 each and 3rdplaced pair
£5 each.
Wednesday Handicap – Winning pair £20 each, 2ndplaced pair £10 each and 3rdplaced pair £5 each. Entry fee will be £1 per competition.
Club Championship
Entered players play where possible with their entered partner. If an entered partner is not available, any club member can play as partner. (Results not counting in the Competition).
League Matches
League matches should not be played on Club Competition nights.
Joining Fees
The Joining Fee for new Members will be £5.
Annual Subscription
Annual Subscription will be £15 per annum. For new members in the year of joining, subscription will be pro-rated by the Committee.
Table Money
Table Money will be £2 per playing session. Visitor’s Table Money will be £3 per session.
Prize Money
Prize Money will be awarded as follows:
Mitchell movements - £1 for the winners and 50p for the seconds irrespective of the number of tables.
Howell movements - £1 for winners.
