The first leg of the friendly teams match between Formby Bridge Club and West Lancashire Golf club took place on 16th October. It was a most enjoyable afternoon, the icing on the cake being a victory for Formby.
The return match will take place at the club on 5th March 2017, so we'll be hoping for a second good result!
The players representing the club were Alan & Gillie Hollway, Jane Nelson-Woods & Sue Birdsall, Edith Milne & Gwyneth Croft, John Hilton & Edith Tomlinson, Ken Readitt & Caroline Pilkington, Sue Wilson & Dorcas Gow.

Back by popular demand!
No need to make arrangements with a partner as you'll be partnering anyone and almost everyone. Just turn up and a partner will be guaranteed!
This will be a social gathering, the objective being to play two boards with as many of your clubmates as time allows.
We suggest a 'keep it simple' bidding strategy for unfamiliar partnerships. Don't waste time discussing the 101 scenarios that won't occur in two boards, just play basic ACOL, 12-14 no trump, Stayman, no transfers. Anything else, just wing it and have some fun!

| Club Championship 2016/17 |

The competition started on Wednesday 5th October 2016 and will end on 1st March 2017.
Results will count for those pairs that have entered the competition as a pair. To qualify, players must have played at least four rounds with their club championship partner. The final reults will be based on the four best scores out of the six competition nights.
Players should enter their names together with their partner on the list on the notice board every month.
