We play  friendly duplicate bridge and are affiliated to the EBU.

 Members meet on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:50 for 7:00 start.

Refreshments: - tea, coffee and biscuits will generally be served every club night.

We run three club competitions every year between October and March.  Competition winners receive their prizes during the Annual General Meeting which happens in April.

Please note that we have a duty of care to all of our members, so please do not come to the club to play bridge if you are feeling unwell or have a condition that could be passed on to others.  Some of our members are very vulnerable and if you turn up to play and are showing signs of cold or flu like symptoms, you will be politely asked to leave.

Christmas came early for two Wests on this hand from last night's Handicap Competition.

North picks up an almost guaranteed nine-trick 26 pointer hand. Playing Benji this is a 2 diamond opener showing 23+ points, with a 2H negative/relay bid from partner. I bid 3NT, passed out, with ten tricks managed. Well done to the North who managed eleven.

Straight Acol players open the North hand  2C to show the 26 points. I can only imagine their horror on two occasions when their partner passed!

 If West now doubles with their SEVEN clubs, it would allow North to escape, but it was not to be. Eight tricks for the defence rolled in and North, with 26 points and a guaranteed 3NT in the one hand, scored minus 150.
