Tuesday 24th February - The Hammer competition
An annual interclub competition that takes place between ourselves and Cork Bridge Club. The team representing Fermoy will be selected in due course. The loser of the competition takes home the hammer to be displayed on the wall of the clubhouse. You will note the hammer hanging on the wall downstairs after Fermoy narrowly lost the competition in 2025.

Thursday 26th February - The 2nd (of 2) sessions that form the Club Cup competition.
The Club Cup is run over two sessions so we ask that pairs that have already entered the first session also enter the second (you must have taken part in the first session to be eligible for the second). The Club Cup is open to all members who hold a club handicap of 11 or greater (there will also be the usual club game for players not entered in the Club Cup). Further details will be posted on the club WhatsApp group in due course. And any prizes earned will be presented at the Presidents Dinner (on Friday 24th April).
Monday 2nd March - National Simultaneous Pairs (CBAI)
The second of 3 simultaneous pairs competition taking place this year. As with all these sim pairs competitions it takes place in our club at the usual Monday night time. It is an annual competition with pairs playing the same cards as other pairs across Ireland. This simultaneous pairs is organised by, and open to all members of, the Contract Bridge Association of Ireland (CBAI). Further details will be posted on the club WhatsApp group in due course. Results will be posted at the end of the week so you may see how you performed compared to all other players in Ireland!
Sunday 8th March - Charity Sunday game
Open to all our members and held to support a local charity (Fermoy Special Needs Group). Further details will be posted on the club WhatsApp group in due course.
Monday 23rd March - Mixed pairs
Further details will be posted on the club WhatsApp group in due course. But of the 139 members only 26 are male so good to sort a playing partner sooner than later :)
Monday 30th March - Qualifying game for Specsavers competition
There is to be a Specsavers competition held in Cork Bridge Club on Sunday 12th April. Clubs are invited to put forward entrants to this competition. On Monday 30th March we will hold a competition to select members to put forward as Fermoy's entrants for the Specsavers competition. Further details will be posted on the club WhatsApp group in due course. But there will also be a normal club game for those not wishing to be considered as entrants for the Specsavers competition.
Monday 20th April - Presidents Prize
This is our usual Monday night game, open to all members. But the winner is awarded the President's Prize. Further details will be posted on the club WhatsApp group in due course.
Friday 24th April - President's Dinner
No bridge game. Purely social event where the club comes together for dinner and craic, and the all important awarding of the prizes gained by members through the year (including the Doherty Cup).

Monday 25th May - Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Our annual AGM will be held and followed by the usual Monday night bridge game. While the committee meets almost every month, and we encourage members to raise any issue they wish to be considered by the committee. For issues affecting the club more generally (such as changes to constitution etc) these need to be raised as motions at the AGM. members are encouraged to submit any motions for the AGM as early as possible and certainly before the deadline. Further details (including the deadline for submitting motions) will be posted on the club WhatsApp group in due course.
