1.         The Minutes of the 2015 AGM were read by Barbara.  That they be accepted as a true record was proposed by Iain Burgess, seconded by Bruce Davies and agreed by the meeting .

2.         Matters arising.

3          Chairman’s Report

Glynne welcomed members to the meeting.  She felt that this had been another good year with the move to the current venue going smoothly.  The club had again won the annual match against Woodbridge.
Glynne thanked the committee for their efforts and also thanked those members who arrived in time to help setting up the room.

4.         Treasurer’s report.

Terry stated that we are financially healthy with a smaller deficit than last year and more than sufficient funds.  The number of tables showed a small increase over the previous year at almost seven.  This is reflected in the table money which increased by £332.

The hall hire costs will amount to a total of £1800 p.a. and results in a saving of around £400 compared to the Marlborough Hotel.

Looking ahead, an average of seven tables per session will be adequate to cover all “day to day” running costs.  We have few other expenses and it is expected that these will be covered by membership subscriptions.

Terry thanked those members who have helped with collection of table money and subscriptions during his absences; principally (but not exclusively) Glynne, Iris and Iain.  He also thanked Ian Burgess for examining the accounts.

That the accounts be accepted was proposed by Jan Hickman, seconded by Barbara Carey and agreed by the meeting.

5.         Membership Secretary’s report.

Iris sent a note in which she reported that we have sixty-one members.  After the loss of those who failed to renew and the sad death of Kay, a number of new members meant that we have two more than last year.  Iris recorded her thanks for help given when she was absent.  Nothing else to report.

6.         Election of Committee.

There being no new nominations, the current Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Secretary, Chief TD and committee were elected en bloc.

7.         Presentation of Trophies.

Barbara  presented the trophies to:-

Improvers                             Joan Rae
Pairs Trophy                        Barbara Barker & Glynne Whitehead.

Individual                            Tony Shearman
Handicap                              Tony Shearman
Knock-out                             Barbara Barker & Glynne Whitehead.

8.         A.O.B

Malcolm pointed out that the past practice of displaying results on the notice board had been discontinued without comment from the members.  No-one suggested that it be reinstated.  Malcolm asked whether the members would like to have pre-prepared boards with hand records available on the web-site.  There was no strong feeling either way,  Glynne said that the committee would consider the subject and perhaps have one or two trial events

Glynne thanked the members for their attention and closed the meeting at 1. 50.
