ABOUT OUR CLUB
ABOUT OUR CLUB

EXETER BRIDGE CLUB is one of the premier clubs in the area.  Bridge is played here every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings with Thursday evening being reserved for newcomers to the game and teaching in the Winter months.  There is a more informal game of bridge on Thursday afternoons.   The first Friday of each month from October to April is reserved for the Eastern League and from May to September we run a Swiss Pairs event which is extremely popular and for which you have to register in advance.

The Isca Centre, where our bridge sessions are held, has a licensed bar and restaurant and an indoor bowling green accommodating 8 rinks. Short mat bowling is also played, and outside there is a Petanque green.

Ample free car parking is available and every effort is made  to accommodate those who are less physically able.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Perhaps you wish to volunteer as a host as this is a job that falls on the same willing horses.   If you use the host system then it would be really special if you would put your name down to act as a host and if you can help out in this way please contact John Sandall who is in charge of the hosting rota.   One way in which every member can help is to make sure that if they have a drink during the evening they return their own glasses, cups etc. to the bar as it is totally unacceptable to leave this job to the bar staff or night staff and usually it is a member of the bridge club who ends up doing this long after most others have gone home.    Remembering to close your bidding box and putting the boards you have just played on the centre table at the club is another small way in which all of us can help.
