This gives greater prestige to the leagues than ever before.  In the Essex Teams of 4 with 8 teams taking part the winners will have played 144 boards (6 x 24) (in practice they don’t play the full number of boards) and in the league with 7 teams in the division each team will have played 6 x 24 board matches which equates to the teams of 4.

League KO

For >= 16 teams: 1st – 9, 2nd – 7, S/F Losers – 4

For < 16 teams: 1st – 8, 2nd – 6, Losing semi finalists - 3

(This equates the League KO to the George Curtis and Tony Kelvin)

In teams events, players must play at least one-third of the boards to qualify for the points.

Other competitions – Senior Pairs and Play with an Expert – are not open to all to enter and therefore not included in the Eve Goblets.
