This is the major Essex competition for teams and it is a green pointed event. All matches will be played in the players own home. The winners or runners-up will have the opportunity of representing Essex in the EBU Pachabo Cup and the Daily Telegraph if they wish to do so. Conditions of entry 1. All players must be full members of the ECBA. 2. A team can consist of up to six players, four of whom only need to be nominated at the time of entry. All players must be eligible to play for Essex in the current season, if selected. 3. The Competition will be divided into three parts: a) First Round (May to September); b) A Progressive knockout for the championship; c) A Plate competition (knockout) for First and Second Round losers only (if less thatn 32 teams; plus Third Round losers (if more than 32 teams). 4. All rounds up to the semi-final will consist of 32 boards. In the championship event, the semi-final will consist of 48 boards and the final 64 boards. In the Plate event, the matches will consist of 32 boards and the final 48 boards. Captains may agree to a lesser number in the sem-finals and the finals. 5. Scoring will be by International Match Points. 6. Plate event. All teams as in 3C) will be eligible to take part. The teams will be redrawn and captains notified of opponents in the usual way. 7. Championship event. All teams winning their Second or Third Round matches will continue in a knockout competition for the Essex Teams of Four Championship. 8. Systems in level 4 may be played. |
