Essex enters teams in the Eastern Counties League, the Metropolitan Cup and the Tollemache Trophy. The ECBA welcomes applications from members to join the county representative squad. Admission to the squad is decided by the selection sub-committee and is dependent on performance in county, regional and national events. If you wish to be considered to represent Essex please submit a summary of your results in recent years to the chair of selectors.
As well as the honour of representing your County, a victory is rewarded by Green Points on the (revised) scale of 1.0, 0.75 and 0.5 GPs respectively for A, B & C Teams.

| 2016-2017 Teams |
The Selection Committee met on the 19th January 2016 to decide the composition of the squads for the 2016-17 season. Availability forms were sent out to the selected individuals and responses were required by 9th March. The teams for the season have now been finalised.
The schedule for the year appears in the table below. Further details will be provided when they are available. If information isn't present, it's most likely because it hasn't been finalised yet.
The Tollemache Qualifier (held in Birmingham) is scheduled for 19th/20th November 2016. For more information and the team selected, follow this link.
Due to the resignation of the previous organiser, it is not clear that the Metropolitan cup will run this year.

- If Paul & Val are required for the "A" team, then Mary & Richard will play for the "B" team, with Dennis and Albert as reserves.
General Notes
- In advance of the match date any problems or queries should be referred to the relevant Squad Captain (Peter, Bernie or Maureen).
- Any problems on match day should be referred to the relevant team captain for the day.
- Please would all reserves note that they are expected to remain available right up until the match start time as illness/emergencies can happen at any time.
- The "A" Team Captain should send the match results sheets for all three teams, together with the completed and signed Result Sheet, (home matches only) to Nigel Bardsley as soon as possible after the match.
