I will also send you electronic versions of these by email.

Club Information on the ECBA website:  Do we have correct details for your club on the ECBA website? Please can you check the email and webpage links, and also the information on the + key next to your club name and let me or Keith Thompson know of any changes required.

Member Contact Details: We would like to be able contact individual members to let them know about upcoming competitions, in particular the events that are aimed at the newer/less experienced player. However, the contact details we have are incomplete and/or out of date. Would you ask your members if they are willing to let the ECBA have their email addresses. We will not pass this on to any third party and will only be used for the ECBA to send out reminders about upcoming events. Any member can opt out of this at any time. If you have a club emailing list, this is likely to be more complete and up-to-date than ours. Would you be willing to forward this to us subject to the permission of each member.

Inter-club Competitions (If any of your team members have any special dietary requirements please let the Tournament Secretary know a week before the event.)

The Fletcher Trophy: for teams of eight will be at the Anglo European School on Sunday, October 25th 2015 starting at 14.00 hours.  The entry fee is £90 per team of eight and by invitation only.  The following clubs are invited to enter teams: Alpha, Mid-Essex, Chelmsford, Hutton, Waltham Forest, Lingwood, Loughton, Mayflower, Mountnessing, Southend & Leigh and Thorpe Bay.  If any other club would like to be invited to take part in the Fletcher Trophy please contact the Tournament Secretary to discuss this.  Refreshments will be provided by Impulse Catering.

The Club Teams of Four Trophy: will be at the Anglo European School on Sunday, October 25th 2015 starting at 14.00 hours.  The entry fee is £45 per team of four.  All clubs are invited to enter one or more teams of four for this competition.  This competition should appeal to middle ranking club players as many of Essex’s strongest players will be playing in the Fletcher Trophy.  Refreshments will be provided by Impulse Catering.

The Ray Cornell Trophy: will take place at Mountnessing Village Hall on Sunday, February 21st 2016 starting at 14.00 hours.  The entry fee £55 per team of four and clubs may enter one or more teams.  This event is two competitions in one.  The initial competition is a simple multi-teams of four format of four with the trophy going to the winners.  The second is to win the right for the club to represent Essex in the Garden Cities Competition.  To be eligible a club must enter two teams designated A and B.  If a club enters more than two teams the A and B teams must be named before the start of the competition.  The winning club is the club whose A and B teams’ positions when added together has the lowest value; and the club will receive the prize of £200 to help defray the costs of representing Essex in the Garden Cities Competition.  Refreshments will be provided by Impulse Catering.

Club TD Training Course: A training course for Club Directors is planned to start in October at Barleylands. The proposed dates are:

Website for Club Results: If you do not already have a website for your club results, did you know that Theo Todman has developed a website (his own project, not an ECBA run site) which allows clubs have their weekly results uploaded and accumulate some cumulative statistics compiled. There is no cost for this. Please contact Theo Todman (theo@theotodman.com) if you would like more information about this.

Yours sincerely

Val Mollison.  ECBA Secretary
