- Always count top tricks first:-2 spades and 6 hearts.
- Two short – where will they come from?
- Yes you need to ruff the opponent’s ace of clubs with the 7 of hearts but this is not an extra trick.
- You must ruff spades twice in dummy - BUT do not try ruffing with the two - it can easily be over-ruffed.
- The 8 and 9 are master trumps and you can afford to use them for ruffing with all master trumps in declarer’s hand.
- You should use the 2 of hearts as an entry back to declarer’s hand for the second spade ruff.
