EWBA COMPETITION REGULATIONS 2016-2017

These regulations apply to all Area events and Area qualifying rounds of WBU events.

In respect of WBU events these regulations are subsidiary and supplementary to the competition

rules of the WBU as published in the journal.

Membership of the WBU remains a requirement for membership of the EWBA.
Membership of a Bridge club in East Wales is not a requirement for membership of the EWBA.

SYSTEMS AND CONVENTIONS

Level 3 conventions apply to all Area competitions (but level 4 if incorporating WBU qualifier).

However, in novice competitions no opening bid which

has both weak and strong options is permitted.

AREA TOURNAMENT ORGANISER

The ATO will book accommodation and directors and provide equipment.

He will communicate with the membership as noticeably as possible both for promotion of events,

and promulgation of results.

ENTRY

All entrants must be members of the EWBA (except for Novice events)

There will be direct entry to all Area events and to Area qualifying  rounds of WBU events.

It is therefore prudent to give early notice of entry to the ATO as numbers may be limited.

Results will normally be available shortly after conclusion of play but will be subject to appeal for

30 minutes after announcement.

Final results of all events will be shown on the EWBA website.
