Face to Face bridge in the club

We welcome new members (and visitors) to face to face bridge games in our friendly club. We have a chair lift, so the club is fully accessible. Visitors pay £5 per session and are requested to report to the director on arrival. We expect players to arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of play so that the movement can be set and monies collected.

Face to face bridge will be on Monday evening at 7.00, Tuesday afternoon (Simple Systems) at 1.30, Wednesday morning (ACOL only) at 10.15, Wednesday afternoon at 1.30 and Saturday afternoon at 1.30We will be running Swiss Pairs at 1.30 on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month - names in advance please. All afternoon and morning sessions (except for Swiss Pairs) are hosted, see calendar for current detail.

Please be in your seats at least 15 minutes before the start time to allow the movement to be set.

More sessions may be created if there is the demand.

In order to help maintain the health and wellbeing of our members, certain conditions will be put in place as follows:

  • Anyone displaying symptoms of a cold or flu should stay away
  • On arrival, you will be able to use the hand sanitizer

On-line at BBO

We welcome visitors to our online games - subscriptions are not currently required for online games.

The club has its own on-line bridge competition on  Friday evenings at 7.00 (new time),  using BBO. The table money for each of them is $3 for a 18 board game (no need for a subscription if you are online only). This session is now shared with Seaford Bridge Club, who host the first, third and fifth Fridays in the month.  Contact Roger Poulter via contact us page with BBO name and EBU number if you wish to take part in our duplicates.

See our on-line page for details. Other members' contact details can be found in the Members Section.

SUPERVISED BRIDGE SESSIONS

Supervised Play will restart on Friday19th April at 10.30 am. Initially, it will be open to anybody who has attended Glenda or Stuart’s lesson in the last twelve months. If there is space, we would also welcome, anybody who is coming back to bridge who hasn’t done any lessons recently.

The sessions will start off with a short presentation on either bidding or play. Then followed by playing relevant selected boards with help available from a team of experienced players.

Each session will last for 2 hours and cost £6 paid for by vouchers. No partner is needed.

For further information, please contact Martyn Stockton on 07720 077830.

We send out emails to all members to inform them about what is happening in the club. If you are not receiving these, it is because you have clicked unsubscribe or junk (either deliberately or inadvertently). The club does not have the power to change that, only you have the power to change that status. See Re-subscribe

Learn Bridge

We provide the most comprehensive quality bridge teaching in the area, by providing traditional beginners and fast track courses as well as improvers courses. Next Fast-track starting on the 13th January is full, names are now going on the waiting list. See our lessons page. Pre-dealt hands are used in all lessons meaning the learning is mainly through playing.

Contact the Club

The best way to contact the club is via the Contact Us page and choose the appropriate person. For lessons contact the person running the lessons directly or Stuart Barker.

To contact individual members of the committee go to the 'Committee & Officers' page under the Information menu.

The club telephone is often on answerphone, and messages may not get answered, so it should not be used for general enquiries.
