NEBA Teams Results - Congratulations to both our teams
Very well done to our A and B teams, as both achieved promotion to the next league up.
It was a particulary competitive season, where the final positions were decided on the last round of play.
Durham A came joint top with Wearside A in Division B and Durham B finished first in Division C.
Congratulations to all participating players over the 5 rounds.
Special thank you goes to Jill Hancock, our teams capitain, and also to Sue Goddard for the delicious home baked cakes when we played at home.

Tuesday Afternoon Hosting
The Tuesday afternoon hosting system has been working well, allowing players to join in on an extra 11 occasions so far since October.
We are aiming to continue hosting in the New Year, as long as we have willing volunteers.
If you would like to volunteer and have not already done so, please contact the secretary, Christine Farnsworth.

Christmas message from the Chairman:
Very best seasonal good wishes to all our players
We have had a great year in terms of playing numbers, and I’m delighted to see the current number of tables is increasing on Monday nights (and often as high as 7), steady on Tuesday afternoons (often in double figures) and has settled to around 6 on Tuesday evenings where we regularly welcome a full table of University students. We also have a very healthy number of new learners in the Tuesday afternoon classes. The monthly Monday teams of 4 initiative is proving very popular as an addition to the Club’s activities.
I really must place on the record our grateful thanks to the Framwellgate Community Centre Trustees. While our numbers were significantly down as we came out of Lockdown we were able to negotiate a temporary rent reduction for 2022. Thank you to the Trustees. We have now restored the rental to the pre-Covid level and this has been facilitated by our new subscription model, which means that members never pay table money.
The Club’s teams had a mixed year, and we look forward to seeking promotions in the current round – but it’s playing bridge face-to-face that matters so much more than winning.
I would like to thank you all for your continued support over this last year but especially I’d like to thank all the Committee members without whom none of this would happen. It’s always a pleasure to play amongst friends and we are a strong and healthy Club because of your support. Thank you all.
Stay safe and stay healthy and I look forward to seeing you all again in the New Year.
Adrian
