The annual membership fee is £5 and is due from the date of the April AGM. Members who have not yet paid for 2017-18 and new members should see the Secretary, Ann Squires. Members will automatically be registered with the EBU unless they request that their details should not be passed on. Membership of the EBU is free and includes the bi-monthly magazine online, play in EBU events, an official grading scheme (similar to the ELO in Chess) to mark progress and a diary.
All club members are automatically enrolled into the EBU. Their EBU number is shown on the member record file, a copy of which is kept at the club.
To access the 'MY EBU' facility, an account needs to be created, which in effect means a password has to be given.
To do so see https://www.ebu.co.uk/passwords
I have compiled a historical record of past members and events via records of AGM and Committee meetings (1972-76, 1976-81, 1981-86, 1986-91, 1991-96, 1996-2001, 2001-06, 2006-2011 and 2011-16) - see the News Page. Please let me know of any inaccuracies in the information presented (as records aren't always complete) - Thank you, Peter Sykes.
Welcome to our website. Durham Bridge Club is a friendly club that meets on a regular basis to play duplicate bridge, usually pairs, but occasionally teams. Visiting pairs are always welcome to any session. The club meets at Framwellgate Moor Youth & Community Centre, Front Street, Framwellgate Moor, Durham, DH1 5BL.
Tuesday evenings at 7:00 - 10:00pm: Standard 'level 4' conventions are permitted. The overall 'NGS' rating of players is about 53 (above average).
Tuesday Afternoons from 1:15 - 4:15pm: a host system operates (no partner is necessary). There is an 'Open' section and when required a 'No fear' section. This session is popular with players with less experience, but all are welcome.
Monday evenings at 7.00 - 10.00pm: a supervised session - ideal for novices wanting instruction in a 'real-life' environment or for players new to duplicate bridge.
Please ensure that you are seated at least 10 minutes before play is due to start.
Results of each Tuesday session are available immediately all hands have been played - and usually there are printed hand records.
Want to learn to play? The club usually runs a structured training course in the autumn.
Thanks to all the players who managed to cope very well with the new movement. The moving of tables into the other room did help the overcrowding. Any feedback would be appreciated.
The results aren't finalised as it appears board 12 is fouled and will have to be amended. E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org if any other results need amending.

The Committee are delighted to announce a new competition open to all Durham Bridge Club members. George Cansino (a club member) has very kindly donated a cup won by his brother Jonathan -one of the most brilliant bridge players of his age https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/alt.obituaries/IhGxp09UgsQ - and the intention is that this should be competed for by both afternoon and evening players. In order to make this possible the following rules are to operate:
