This year's Charity Challenge Cup, held in March, was in aid of the RNLI. Above is a picture of Anna Gudge & Mark Newton, who organise the competition, presenting a cheque for £5659.45 to the Kirkwall lifeboat station.
A total of 1498 pairs from 98 clubs in 6 countries took part.
Congratulations to club members who have recently gained promotion. Roger Urquhart is now a Scottish Master, Robin & Jan Sharp are 5 star Masters, Margaret Alder is a 4 star Master, Rosie Crockett is a Master, Kate Bergman, John Holcroft & John Meldrum are Local Masters, and Nora Hawes & Bill Watson are Club Masters.
The Dunbar Congress will be held on Sunday 30th September 2018, in the Bleachingfield Centre. The Pairs competition will be in the afternoon, starting at 1.00pm, followed by a meal, then the Teams competition in the evening. Click here to open the entry form.
The Skateraw team have now played all their matches, and have finished 4th in the second division.
The Dunbar team have finished 10th in division three, and are likely to be demoted next season.
The club expects that all players behave with courtesy towards both partners and opponents, particularly when playing against inexperienced opponents.

The committee would like to emphasise the importance of keeping the boards on the table in full view at all times, always in the correct orientation. When N has entered the scores, E or W must take the trouble to check that they are correct, particularly on arrow switched rounds. Also, before the bidding starts, N must make sure that the correct boards are being played, by checking either the bridgemate or the table card.
