I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and I wish you all a happy, prosperous and healthy new year. Our Christmas party was a great success. Prizes were given to the winners of the evening first was Debbie (with just a tad of help from Nick and Marlene who helped her score by getting a grand slam) joint second was David Johnson and Viv Dale. During the year we run four competitions two on Thursday and two on Monday. The winners of the open pairs were Jo and Eileen second was Debbie and Martin. The individual competition was won by Marlene second was David Johnson and third was Debbie. The Kitty Edmund’s cup was won by Marlene second was Ruth and third was Judith. The slam cup was won by Judith. Well done to everyone.

Thursday bridge will start back on the fourth of January and Monday bridge on the eighth.

I want to thank all the committee that work so well together to run a happy, relaxed and very enjoyable bridge club.

The club was founded in 1959 and currently has 34 members. We meet twice a week, on Monday afternoons we play Chicago and on Thursday evenings we play Duplicate.

New members are always welcome, with or without partners.

We also have a close relationship with the Hook of Holland (Hoekse) Bridge Club. Every September we play them for the Zeeland Cup, an arrangement that has been ongoing for 37 years.  

Following the 2023 competition the Hoekse Bridge Club hold the trophy.
