The club was founded in 1959 and currently has 34 members. We meet twice a week, on Monday afternoons we play Chicago and on Thursday evenings we play Duplicate.

New members are always welcome, with or without partners.

We also have a close relationship with the Hook of Holland (Hoekse) Bridge Club. Every September we play them for the Zeeland Cup, an arrangement that has been ongoing for 37 years.  

Following the 2024 competition the Hoekse Bridge Club hold the trophy.

Dovercourt Bridge Cub had two entries in the recent Summer Swiss Pairs. Bob and Marlene came first and Debbie and Martin came third. Really wonderful results.

Our Dutch friends will be travelling to Harwich on Friday 28th August for the weekend to play for the Zealand Cup. Saturday afternoon will be a friendly match and you are all welcome to play. Saturday will be the evening meal (venue to be decided) everyone welcome. Sunday afternoon we will play for the Zealand Cup. Six pairs are travelling over. The committee will decide our six pairs from people who host in some way or are actively involved in organising the weekend. More details to follow.

Please note change of date for our AGM. We need to fit in a committee meeting before it and Debbie and Martin will not be back from holiday in time. If you would like to join the committee please get a sponsor and give the details to Chris our secretary. If you have anything you would like discussed you can also give this to Cris who will add it to our agenda. The AGM will start at 6:00 pm and normal play start at 6:30. Please make every effort to attend.

Debbie, Martin, Marlene and Bob represented our club at the resent Suffolk Congress. Eleven teams took part playing ten four board rounds. At the end of an enjoyable day they gained second place missing first place by just one point. Another achievement for our small club.
