Mike Ash is the outgoing president of The Scottish Bridge Union and is a good bridge player. He is responsible for many of the changes made to the format of trials and selection of the Scottish international team. In my view most of these have not been well thought out and are simply a way of copying what the English Bridge Union do. How England do things is not necessarily best for Scotland...but sadly that is the way things are going.
