| How to use the scoring tablets |
North is responsible throughout
- Turn on by pressing down the switch at top or the side depending on tablet model
- Swipe the lock icon to the right (or upwards on the new tablets), this should initiate the tablet
- Enter table number and player ID numbers; the tablet should now show correct names in correct places
- Once the director has agreed the movement the tablets will automatically show the correct boards. Agree the board being played.
- Enter
a. the contract
b. doubled or not
c. the declarer
d. the lead
- North should verbally repeat a b and c above to the rest of the table to minimise error. Remember that adjoining tables will be playing the board next and speak with an appropriate volume.
- Once the hand is played enter the number of tricks gained. East or West must check this is correct and press “Yes”
- If an error occurs during the sequence of entries you can continue to the end of the contract and press “No”, this will allow you to start again from the beginning
- Alternatively if the wrong contract is entered you can click on it (top of the screen) and this will allow you to change it
- If you pass-out a hand please press PASS not SKIP
- SKIP is used only if the director decides to terminate the evening early and miss out hands
- At the end of play you can view the results by pressing “Ranking” (this will not be entirely accurate until all tables finish)
- Do not turn off the tablet, return it to the scorer's table
