Club Handbook and Director's Notes

The club first published a handbook in 1995.  It was written by our late Chairman Bill Cobbe.

It has now been revised and can be viewed and printed here.  As well as giving some general information it details some of the more important ethical and procedural aspects of the game.

Announcing and Alerting 2013
The new regulations are now in force.  Click for the EBUs summary document.

The main changes are:
  • One level minor suit openings which could be fewer than 3 cards are now announced (strong artificial is still alerted)
  • 2NT openings and the Stayman (4-card) and red-suit transfer responses are now announced - as with 1NT
  • Only transfer completions that deny 4 card support are alerted
  • An artificial  SUIT bid on the first round (starting with the opening bid) is alerted even if it is above 3NT.
I suggest you highlight a copy of the document with your own arrangements.
