| CONDOVER DUPLICATE BRIDGE CLUB |

We are a friendly Bridge Club with around 55 members. We welcome people of all abilities and ages. Disabled access is available. We regularly have around 7 tables each week and run various friendly competitions through out the year with prize giving at the AGM. We charge a £15:00 joining fee with an annual subscription of £10.00. Table money is £1.00 for members, £2.00 for visitors and includes tea, coffee and biscuits. Just a reminder that there is no bridge at Condover on Friday 21 October and Friday 28 October due to the play at Condover Village Hall. Bridge starts again on Friday 4 November.

| CLUB PAIRS COMPETITION |
Congratulations to Bob Thomas and Martin Heiron, the winners of the Club Pairs Competition, with an average score of 61.6%. In second place were Val Leland and Ken Tyrrell with 56.7% and Janet Jones and Jean Jackson were third with 51.3%.

| PSYCHIC BIDDING |
|
A pyschic bid is a deliberate and gross misstatement of honour strength and/or suit length. A psyche bid is a legitimate ploy as long as it contains the same element of surprise for the psycher's partner as it does for the opponents. A partnership must not have any agreement to control a psyche. Players are required to disclose their agreements, both explicit and implicit. Whilst psychic bids do not have to be reported, a player may ask for the director to have them recorded. The club has a psyche book and we would encourage all members to have any psychic bids recorded in that book.
