Clevedon and Portishead Bridge Clubs were established by Colin and Lesley Floyd in 1992 and 1997 respectively. The two clubs later moved to the same premises in Portishead but continue to maintain separate identities but with one membership fee.
Clevedon Bridge Club is affiliated to the EBU and plays duplicate events every Friday evening beginning at 7.15pm. EBU masterpoints are issued.
Portishead Bridge Club is not affiliated and plays handicapped duplicate events every Wednesday evening beginning at 7.15pm.
We generally have 8-10 tables and aim always to play 27 boards. It is normally not necessary to have a partner and you are welcome to come alone.
During the winter months a separate 'Gentle Duplicate' session is held at Clevedon Golf Club on Monday afternoons starting at 2.00pm. All members are welcome to attend and the session is also designed to introduce less experienced players to duplicate events. No masterpoints are issued.
Lesley Floyd offers lessons designed for beginners and improvers and arranged on an ad hoc basis. Her aim is to introduce new members to duplicate bridge and many of the club's members are former pupils. Please CLICK HERE to contact Lesley for further details.
