ANDREW ROBSON TO VISIT CLARE NEXT YEAR
ANDREW Robson, bridge's top teacher-player in Britain today, is coming to Clare next year.
He will conduct one of his legendary 'Master Classes' in Clare Town Hall on Friday 30 October 2009.
The details of the day long event are still to be finalised but he is likely to run two sessions - 10.30am to 1.30pm and 2.30pm to 5.30pm.
Members of Clare bridge club will get a discounted rate which is expected to be between £20 and £25 a head for the day - including lunch.
The decision to invite The Times' bridge columnist was made by Clare's committee only 10 days ago and he immediately offered two dates in 2009.
The Master Class is expected to cover two topics of interest to duplicate players - one in each session - from a list of ten:

CLARE look set to meet old rivals Ipswich on home soil in the final stages of the Suffolk's Club Teams of 8 Summer League.
Unbeaten so far in the competition, Clare easily came top of their league which included Stowmarket, Frinton, Colchester and Felixstowe.
The other division consists of Ipswich, Ipswich Hospitals, Woodbridge, Framlingham and Bury St Edmunds. With one key match to play - Ipswich Hosptials v Bury St Edmunds - Ipswich Hospitals are strong favourites to finish first, with Ipswich guaranteed, at worst, second place.
In the final stages, the winners of each league play the runners-up of the other league - in September. The winners of those matches then meet in the final, due to be played in October.
The Clare team, captained by Nick Farr, staged a spirited comeback in their final match against Frinton. After being 17 IMPs down at the interval they went on to win overall by 21 IMPs - producing a final result of 15VPs to 5VPs.
The fightback was due in no small part to excellent play by Rosemarie Mascall and Norman Denny who produced the best results for the club.
The victory maintained Clare's 100 per cent record in the league this summer. The Clare team consisted of Nick Farr, Jane and Andrew Moore, Elizabeth Tora, David and Jenny Price, plus Rosemarie Mascall and Norman Denny.
ANDREW Moore and David Price finished an excellent third in the Senior Pairs at the prestigious Brighton Congress this week.
