Fundraising session for St. Luke's Hospice 

All table money and donations for coffee and cake goes to the Hospice. 

Visitors are especially welcome.

Constitution

Constitution 

1        The name of the club shall be Church Minshull Bridge Club.

2        The object of the club shall be to provide facilities for its members for the playing of Duplicate Contract Bridge.

3        Membership of the club shall be open to all.  There shall be an annual fee for membership that shall be fixed at the club AGM.

4        Each member of the club and each guest and visitor shall pay table money on each occasion when he or she plays at the club.  The charge will be set by the committee at a level to cover ongoing costs.

5        The committee may suspend or terminate the membership of any member.  The reason must be submitted in writing to the member concerned, who may appeal to a General Meeting of Members.

6        Club meetings shall be held at the discretion of the committee.

7        There shall be an Annual General Meeting of Members held in September each year.  Other General Meetings of Members shall be held at the discretion of the committee, or within fourteen days of a receipt by the secretary of a request in writing by ten members of the club, stating the purpose for which the meeting is required.

8        The quorum for a General meeting is six.

9        The Chairperson must receive resolutions for inclusion in the agenda for a general meeting at least one week before the meeting.  Such resolutions, which must be proposed and seconded by a member of the club, shall require two-thirds majority of those present and voting at the meeting.

10    Notice of General Meetings shall be given at least 10 days before the date of the meeting.

11    A committee of 7 members, consisting of Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and four other members shall be elected at the AGM. The committee will manage the affairs of the club.  Nominations for officers and committee should be submitted to the Chairperson 48 hrs prior to the AGM.  Any vacancies can be filled by nomination at the AGM.  The nominated officers shall serve a term of 5 years and committee members 3 years before retiring in rotation but can seek re-election. The committee will appoint the club Director who will advise all bridge matters.

12    The quorum for a committee meeting shall be half the voting committee members plus one, excluding any unfilled posts.

13    In the event of the club voting to dissolve itself, or there failing to be a properly constituted committee, the assets of the club shall be used for local community activity at the discretion of the Parish Council.

14    This constitution may be altered or revoked only by resolution of members, carried by at least a two-thirds majority, at a General Meeting of Members.
