Bridge Lessons

Welcome to our site for those wishing to learn how to play bridge or improve their game as beginners/improvers.

The Cheltenham Bridge Club has a staged process whereby you can start with Bridge Lessons, practise at our beginner's practice sessions on Thursday afternoon and then move on and play the game at our ‘Gentle Bridge’ sessions. When you feel you are ready you can join in the club’s full programme of activities in the afternoons and evenings Monday to Saturday.

You can join any of the training and improvement sessions according to your level of ability/experience and a standby partner will be available, if needed.

All stages are run on a friendly and relaxed basis and will enable you to quickly make new friends and develop a bridge partnership of your own.

Classes began in October 2018 and all classes are full.

Learn Bridge In A Weekend

Cheltenham Bridge Club offers an intensive weekend course where you can learn the BASICS of bridge in a weekend.  This FAST TRACK course is ideal for those who wish to learn the basics over a weekend and have family and friends who they can continue to play with.  The weekend course costs £120 and includes all tuition, notes, morning coffee, sandwich style lunch and afternoon tea.

The next weekend course will be in 12-13th January is now full. Please contact Nicola Renshaw  to join the waiting list.

Lesley's Daytime Lessons

A new series has started. The folowing topics will be covered:

November 9       Defence – leads and rule of 11
November 16     Defence – signals and discards
November 23     Defence – counting the hand
November 30     Weak 2’s
December 7       Weak 2’s
December 14     Defence to 1NT doubled – The Wriggle

Beginners Play Sessions

These sessions are suitable for those who have completed their beginners and/or improvers course. Turn up with or without a partner and play some hands with help available in a non competive environment. The sessions are on Thursday afternoons starting at 14:00.
