The SBU Edwin Berry Teams Tournament takes place at the Carlton Sun 22nd Sep 11am: Bowling Club parking is also available.

Be aware, the Edinburgh 10k takes place on Sunday involving multiple road closures, including The Mound.

We are sad to report that Sandy Gordon died Thursday September 12th. He played regularly until very recently on a Wednesday afternoon but had been unwell for some time. Any further details shared by his family will be posted here.

Sadly, club member, Moira  Steele died on Thursday 12th September after a short illness.

Her funeral will be held at 12.00 on Friday 27th in the Lorimer Chapel at Warriston & afterwards at the Carlton Bridge Club & all are welcome to attend. Bowling Club parking will also be available.

This season the Wendy Gray, Club Swiss Teams, is being run for members up to and including Life Masters on Tuesdays 24th Sep. and 8th Oct. 7pm

You can turn up for the Tuesday Novice and Wednesday Bronze Afternoon tournaments with or without a partner or signing up.

Online Tournaments, on BBO:

All BBO tournaments have a Partnership Desk. If you register there, you have a good chance of getting a game either with somebody else looking for a partner or as a sub (a free game). 

To take part in any of these tournaments you need to join BBO and register your username at online@carltonbridge.co.uk.

If you need help joining a tournament, contact the TD for your tournament via BBO and they will be glad to assist you.

The Club has started a new tournament specifically for novice players. 

This will run on a Tuesday afternoon 1-4pm, directed by Elizabeth Peckham and is for players ranked  Bronze-1, typically immediately (or not long) out of classes.

This tournament will play at least 12 boards, at a relaxed pace, around 8min/board. Masterpoints will be awarded.  Sign up is available via the Calendar HERE as a single or pair. The 2024 Carlton Congress is Sunday October 20th  Swiss pairs and teams – 1pm start with meal available during break.  Entry fees £14 per pair and £28 per team, £14pp for meal. Entry form HERE
